I respectfully disagree. Arguments such as these have been proposed for decades, to little effect. Effectively, ineffective.
We've tried the nonviolent and peaceful route. We are still ignored, while our enemies (rightfully) use the only known tactic that has prevailed since the dawn of time: violence.

Start impaling corpses in town squares and watch how quickly this problem gets solved. Overnight.
