In which people do mad things due to the loss of God.
This is a post about propaganda, about ritual and superstition in the digital age, and how the senseless and meaningless world of consumer Liberalism is animated by the type of behaviour commonly associated with primitive cultures.
It has through the use of superstition, fear and the need for personal significance resulted in the rule of the neurotics - a “neurocracy”, in which sickness and despair is a sign of wisdom.
I explain in this post why so many people support such obviously bad things - and how you can help to train them into better habits.
There are footnotes, for which I apologise - and there is no update on Ukraine yet - for which I do not. It will be here soon, and free.
This post is paywalled in recognition of my paid subscribers, without whom I would have to write a proper application for a place in the GULAG.
The Current and the Thing
Why do people cop for masks and vaxxes which don’t work - or even kill you? Why do they support measures like lockdowns which destroy societies - as safely and effectively as the toxic injections can destroy your health?
The answer explains why foreign wars can be as effectively marketed as food substitutes. Any product which destroys can be sold to the masses if the promise is right. This is the current powering the thing. Channelled through ritual behaviour, the payoff of participation in mass pantomime is far greater than a temporary dopamine bloom. It is the flower of evil.
What moves mankind behind the mask is a terrible appetite that cannot be sated. The madness of our civilisation is banal. This goes without saying.
Our sayings and doings in this sense are a collective activity to bind the lonely atoms we have become, in something like a constellation of meaning. These strange rituals structure a life we consider so advanced that we have become blind to its backwardness.
This is a vanity which masks our methods from ourselves, the means we use to make us feel as if we matter, as if we belong, and as if there is something to matter and to belong to after the sensible and scientific loss of God.
And after all is said and done it is never enough.
Vaxxing and Masking
The patently irrational behaviours of “boosting” and masking are no longer justified by now abandoned1 claims about safety and effectiveness. The war in Ukraine is lost as was easy to predict, and at a terrible cost whose total is yet to be reckoned.
Why then do people do or defend these things?
There is a method in this madness ands it is ritual.
The Riches of the Poor
Mask mandates have not gone away. They are back in US public parks, and also in New York. This is a ritual which is not going away.
Mask mandates are back in some form in five US states. In Australia, the mandate to accept toxic “vaccines” was only rescinded in Queensland hospitals in September 2023.
Vaccine mandates ordering employees to take the injections were still in place in 21 US States for teachers, healthcare workers and even some hotel and restaurant employees in May 2023.
These measures, seen throughout the US and the West, as well as worldwide, had one chilling effect besides the now documented toxicity of the mRNA injections themselves.
The mandates forced the competent and the wise out of the institutions. Covid propaganda scapegoated the best people as the worst, and that is partly the reason why the whole show was such a success.
THE IRRATIONAL IS THE REAL
Irrational behaviours all have a rationale. What this means is the behaviour may be insane, but it has a structure or significance which makes sense to the person doing it.
There is method in every madness, in short. What is the method here? It is ritual.
What is ritual? It is actions and words undertaken to secure a sense of power.
This power is intended to cause change in reality.
This is the basis of the “art” of magic. - change in accordance with will.
Yet outside the vilification of the free, the change is not external. It is virtual, irrational, chemical, internal. It is simply a release of feelgood hormones.
This reward is most desired by the desperate. With no God, no order, no sense to their lives, nothing in their lonely, abortionist lifestyle Satanism to console them they are in dire need of some “positive energy”.
It is curious that those who insist on this sort of talk are themselves so negative. It is the sick who are obsessed with healing - but it is not the thick who despise the wise.
It is the man in the middle who is most numerous, and who feels his position most painfully. Ritual vengeance is the consolation of the midwit, who wishes to curse his betters as well as those worse, and feel better for it.2
Popular Misconceptions
Most people would laugh at the idea of them being unwitting - but very willing - participants in a mass orchestrated ritual destruction of society.
And yet, that is what happened.
Why do people take part?
Ritual is intended to confer a sense of significance. What I do matters, and therefore so do I.
As you may have noticed, most consumer advertising appeals to obvious needs of self esteem and reward.
“Because you’re worth it”, says one advert. “Just Do It”, says another - expressing an urgent desire for impulsive behaviour without justification.
Superficially, there is no depth to these appeals. On examination they speak to the deep absence of wellbeing, to the sickness at the centre of Man - who has turned away from everything except himself, only to discover there is nothing there.
