Woke gets attention. Yet to treat what is called “woke” as a mere clown show is dangerous. It may be profitable to some to do so, but there is more to this display than mere spectacle.
What I mean here is that the concept of “woke” is misleading in itself. People who monetise talk about it are helpmeets to harm, because their framing typically limits the significance of this project of denormalisation.
Today I will argue we should wake up from our notion of “woke”, in order to recognise it for what it is: a partnership with power in theory and practice towards the replacement of our civilisation.
Judith Butler, probably the best known and most successful advocate of Critical and Gender Theory, here admits that “yes, we do teach that to children”.
She was talking about the promotion of paedophilia and child homosexuality.
The prevalence of critical-theory1 inspired propaganda is obvious. I think its success is explained because it helps to sell the product of the ideology of the state, and the industries which have partnered with its projection of power.
The aim of this sale is to replace our civilisation with a new order, with new values, beliefs and practices in place of former norms. It is largely “denormalisation”.
To present this as a problem of recent leftwing policy is to mistake a symptom for the disease. What is called “woke” is indeed an illness, but like all our social ills it is also a business.
Liberal-globalism is a business of sickness - mentally, morally, physically.
Its New Culture is sick, in the same way that the medical industry is discredited by its presentation of addiction as a cure for diseases it has in many cases invented itself.
THE LIBERATION BUSINESS
The financialisation of ever-progressing perceptions of oppression and struggle is simply the twofold refinement of the technique of liberation-sales.
Microaggressions and unconscious bias are terms for imagined crimes against diversity.
These are thought crimes. Progress demands new designations of new struggles, in order to continue its own impetus. It has no other purpose than to keep panicking and carry on.
This is akin to the telos2 of “woke”, which is simply late-stage social progress. The large scale effects of the many factions of grievance it creates is to dissolve social, national and family bonds and replace them with a sort of personal declaration of war. It mobilises individuals against collective norms.
As it secures more power, it secures more power for rewarding them to do so. This leaves the awarding power intact, and what you might call “people power” dissipated in antagonisms which are insoluble by design.
THE EMANCIPATION TRAP
Liberation is a trap. It makes an exitless maze of the mind of the subject, perpetually cheesed off in a frantic race to emancipation. In the corridors of this power, one only sees and never tastes the cheese. To point out the labyrinth is to be called a crank by true believers in liberation theory like Judith Butler herself.
Non-believers are apt to disbelieve this is taking place at all, because we in the West are propaganda naive. This is not despite, but because of, the saturation of propaganda we inhabit, which is now indistinguishable from popular culture.
When ideology is successful, it is invisible. It becomes invisible by establishing new patterns of belief and behaviour, which become normal because they are normalised by messaging and mimicry. This is part of the power of woke. It is performative, offering participation, and confers on an atomised youth a sense of purpose and belonging beyond shopping, drugs and fornication.
What this systemised grievance culture does is enslave its members into permanent victimhood, presenting a utopian horizon to pursue. Of course, you can see the horizon, but you can never reach it.
Images are presented to replicate an impossible future in the mass media, offering a post-racial harmonious Star Trek tomorrow’s world.
MENTAL ILLNESS AS METAPHOR
The insane cult of transgenderism is an obvious mainstay of the anti-woke commentariat. Of course it is evil.
Yet its explanatory power is immense, if not limited to a mere complaint about how far “the left” have gone.
With Bilek’s work explaining how this techno-fetishist industry has masqueraded as a civil rights cult, the question arises as to why?

The explanatory power of the transhuman industry of gender lies in the fact that it is a partner to the wider project. It has not subverted our democracy nor corrupted our culture, but revealed it.
“Liberal democracy” is a deadname. It describes a body politic which has transitioned from one thing into another. As with transsexuals, it has become neither what it says it is, nor what it was once in reality.
The culture which is manufactured to replace our civilisation is entirely trans-sane. It is trans-historical, replacing history with fantasies.
It is trans-gender, replacing biological sex with costumed identities.
It is in the same sense trans-national, replacing national identity with costume and custom, as if mimicry makes a man, and not biology and blood.
With words and pictures is our civilisation replaced, its reality transfigured by design, to present a counterfeit as the same, but at once better, than what it has replaced.
At the root of this project is a concept about reality, and how people decide what it is.
This is the ability to discern the basic difference between things.
The discrimination of difference is likely to be openly marketed as a byway to bigotry. All the signs are there, as Bob Monkhouse3 said of his brother’s house, who was suspected of stealing street furniture.
What is problematic about the representation of “woke” is the idea it is merely a phase. It is not simply an outbreak of madness, nor a costume to be put away in change of scene.
NORMLESSNESS TOWARDS A NEW “NORMAL”
The Critical Theory championed by Judith Butler is an unwitting partner to the mobilisation of culture in service of an end: the destruction of all norms, including the ability to discern the normal.
If you cannot tell sh*t from clay you can be persuaded that sewage is fertile soil.
Of course it is, and it is not. It depends on your point of view. The capture of civilisation is aided by the perception of its project in parts, excluding the whole.
The first principle of “woke” is permanent progress. It states no destination. It is a zealot’s journey “from”, never saying where “to”.
To restrict the perception of the war on civilisation is to aid it. What is called “woke” is monetised by both sides of the performance of politics. This charade takes place alongside its pilgrim’s progress.
The destruction of the discernment of difference is promoted as a means of liberation. This is the enlightenment of manufactured mass delusion, disarming the population of the ability to distinguish between war and peace, justice and crime, the cause of life and that of death, of humanity versus the machine.
The work of woke is to destroy the ability to perceive difference without fear of punishment. It is a servant to the mass-conditioning of populations against their own thoughts, and the evidence of their senses. I do not believe anything can achieve influence on this scale without being partnered, wittingly or not, with the general project of anti-civilisation.
Woke is simply an aspect of this technique.
To wake up from woke is to see it is an effect, not a cause. It is an attempt to personalise the mobilisation of mass culture for political ends.
Where it succeeds, it divides populations into mutually antagonistic factions - promoting a sort of personal declaration of war on all that is.
Nothing could be more useful to a project of civilisational replacement.
The purpose justifies the ways was the slogan of the Cheka in St Petersburg4. The means of justification is the presentation of the work of work as liberation.
It is the groundwork of the liberation of human beings from reality, and from the humanity which differs from the vision of the man of tomorrow.

Judith Butler is the leading living critical theorist.
It is not really a “telos” - a sort of guiding spirit to events - because there are none in this sense. The inspirational spirit woke is a sort of religious war to destroy all social norms in the name of progress. I am convinced the idea of inexorable human moral progress is a myth, and that “woke” is a late stage fanatacism of this creed. The idea here is that “Progress” and “liberation” are being used to sell the precise opposites to you in reality. True believers cannot see this, of course. Butler herself is a left-liberationist, and would perhaps be appalled that her project of deconstruction is simply demolition in the service of something far worse than that which she despises.

Indeed. Shortly after the Obergefell decision allowed for men who engage in unnatural acts with starting and end point of the alimentary canal to marry one another, I came across a wit who declared that gay marriage was the starting line, not the finish line. Horribly true.
